1. What this site is

The NWA Trade Guide publishes a free newsletter and a set of free reference directories for Northwest Arkansas: licensed contractors, supply houses, permit offices, trade schools, funding programs, farm and land programs, an events calendar, and a job board.

Everything here is free to read. There is no paywall, no account required to use the directories, and no paid placement anywhere on the site.

By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

2. A listing is a record, not a recommendation

When a business, school, program, or office appears in a directory here, it means a license, an address, or a published program exists on the record we checked, and nothing more.

We do not vet, endorse, verify, or background-check the businesses listed. We do not confirm that anyone is insured. We do not collect or check reviews. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to hire anyone.

Verify a license number and proof of insurance yourself before you hire, and call ahead before you rely on hours, fees, or availability. Official pages change without announcing it.

3. Nothing here is professional advice

The guides, editorials, permit pages, and how-to content on this site are general information for Northwest Arkansas. They are not legal, financial, tax, insurance, engineering, or code-compliance advice, and using them does not create any professional relationship.

Only the jurisdiction can tell you whether your specific job needs a permit, and only a licensed professional can tell you whether your specific job is safe to do yourself.

4. Business listings: claiming, correcting, and owner accounts

Who may claim a listing

You may claim a listing if you own the business, or if the business has authorized you to act for it on this matter. When you submit a claim you are attesting to that, and we take that attestation seriously.

How verification works

We review every claim by hand. We aim to confirm or decline a claim within 24 to 48 hours of receiving it. We verify by matching the phone number on your claim against the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board's public roster, by confirming you control an email address at the business's own domain, or by a direct conversation where neither of those is available.

Once a claim is approved, you get an account that can submit edits to that listing.

Edits are reviewed before they publish

Every edit an owner submits goes into a review queue. Nothing an account submits writes straight to a live page. We do this so a compromised account, or a mistake, cannot quietly change what a reader sees.

What you are responsible for

Information you submit about your business must be accurate and must be yours to submit. Do not send us anything you do not have the right to publish, and do not claim credentials, licenses, certifications, or affiliations you do not hold.

What we can do

We may decline a claim, ask for more proof, reject an edit, correct a listing ourselves, suspend an account, or remove a listing entirely. Claiming a listing does not give you control over what we publish about your business, does not entitle you to placement or ranking, and does not make the listing an advertisement.

Removal

If you would rather not be listed at all, ask and we will remove the listing. You do not need an account to ask.

5. Your account

Accounts sign in by a one-time link emailed to you, so there is no password. Keep access to that inbox secure, and do not share sign-in links. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.

Tell us at support@nwatrades.com if you think someone else has reached your account. We may suspend or close an account that is being used to submit false information or to claim a business the account holder has no connection to.

6. The job board

The job board is a free community bulletin board. Listings are written by the people who post them.

We are not a party to any transaction that starts here. We do not endorse or vet posters, we do not guarantee that any work will be done or paid for, and we never handle money. Arkansas requires a state contractor license for residential construction or home improvement work over $2,000 and most commercial work of $50,000 or more. Check licenses yourself, ask for insurance, and hire directly and at your own risk.

7. Using the site fairly

You are welcome to read, quote, link to, and print anything here for your own use or your business's use, and we would appreciate a link back.

Please do not:

• Scrape or bulk-extract the directories to rebuild them elsewhere or to resell them.
• Use the listings to send unsolicited commercial email or automated calls.
• Impersonate a business, a person, or this publication.
• Submit anything unlawful, misleading, or infringing.
• Attack or interfere with the site or try to reach parts of it you were not given access to.

8. Content, yours and ours

The words, page designs, and compiled directories on this site belong to The NWA Trade Guide. The underlying facts, such as a license record or a permit office's counter hours, belong to nobody and you are free to use them.

When you submit something to us, whether a listing correction, a job board post, or an event, you keep ownership of it and you give us permission to publish, edit for length and clarity, and archive it on this site and in the newsletter. You confirm you have the right to give us that permission.

9. Links to other sites

This site links out constantly, on purpose: to license lookups, permit portals, fee schedules, program pages, and organizers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for them. A link is not an endorsement.

10. Corrections

If something here is wrong, out of date, or missing, email support@nwatrades.com with the page and what needs to change. This site is rebuilt from its own source data rather than edited by hand, so a confirmed correction usually reaches the live page the same day.

11. Disclaimers and limits

The site is provided as it is. We work hard to check what we publish against primary sources and to say plainly when we could not confirm something, but we do not warrant that everything here is accurate, current, or complete, and information changes without notice.

To the fullest extent Arkansas law allows, The NWA Trade Guide is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or from anything you found through it, including any dealing with a business listed here.

12. Changes, and the law that governs this

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts serving Washington or Benton County, Arkansas.
