1. Who this covers
This policy covers three sites run by The NWA Trade Guide: the newsletter at www.nwatrades.com, the directory at directory.nwatrades.com, and the business owner portal at manage.nwatrades.com.
The NWA Trade Guide is a sole proprietorship based in Northwest Arkansas. One publisher, no parent company, no investors.
2. What we collect, and why
We collect as little as the job needs. There are four places you can give us information, and nothing else on this site asks you for any.
| Where | What you give us | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Newsletter signup | Your email address. | To send you the newsletter. Nothing else. |
| Claim or correct a listing | Your name, your business, your role there, a contact email and phone, and whatever correction you are submitting. | To confirm you are connected to the business before we change anything on its page, and to reply to you about it. |
| Owner account (manage.nwatrades.com) | Your email address, and the business you say you represent. | To sign you in by emailed link and to attach your edits to the right listing. |
| Job board post | Your name, contact details, and the listing you are posting. | To publish the listing and to pass responses back to you. Your contact details are never published on the page. |
We do not ask for a date of birth, a Social Security number, a government ID, or payment details anywhere on this site, because nothing here costs money.
3. Analytics, and what we do not run
The directory uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare's own documentation states that it "does not collect or use your visitors' personal data," and that it measures pages using a JavaScript beacon and the browser's Performance API.
The newsletter runs on beehiiv, which records ordinary email delivery statistics such as whether a message was opened and which links were clicked.
We do not run advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or third-party marketing tags on this site. There is no advertising program on The NWA Trade Guide, so there is nobody to send that data to.
4. What we will never do with your information
- We do not sell, rent, trade, or license our subscriber list, and we will not.
- We do not share your email address with the businesses in our directory.
- Creating an owner account never signs you up for the newsletter. That is a separate box, and it starts unchecked.
- We never publish the contact details you give us on the job board or the claim form.
5. Business listings are public records, not information you gave us
Most of what is on this site was never submitted by anyone. The contractor directory is built from the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board's public license roster. Supplier, school, permit office, funding, and event pages are built from the organizations' own published pages and from public records.
A listing appearing here means a record exists. It is not a recommendation, and no business paid to be included or ranked.
If a listing about your business is wrong, out of date, or you want it removed, tell us and we will fix or remove it. See the corrections section below. You do not need an account to ask.
6. The services we rely on
Running this site means a handful of companies process data on our behalf. These are the only ones:
| Service | What it handles |
|---|---|
| beehiiv | The newsletter list and email delivery. |
| Jotform | The claim and correction form. |
| Cloudflare | Hosting for the directory and the portal, plus site analytics. |
| Supabase | The owner account database for manage.nwatrades.com. |
| Google Workspace | Our own email at nwatrades.com. |
Each of these has its own privacy policy governing what it does as our processor. We do not give any of them permission to use your information for their own marketing.
7. Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link at the bottom of any issue. It works immediately and we do not ask why.
- See what we hold about you: email support@nwatrades.com and we will tell you.
- Correct it: same address, and we would rather hear about it than not.
- Delete it: ask, and we will remove your subscriber record and any account you created. Business listing information drawn from public records is handled separately, in the section above.
We offer these because they are the right way to treat a reader, not because a statute at our size compels them. We aim to answer within thirty days and usually much sooner.
8. Children and teens
This site is built for adults: homeowners, property managers, and people working in the trades. It is not directed to children or to teenagers, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Arkansas's Children and Teens' Online Privacy Protection Act took effect July 1, 2026 and applies to services directed to minors or that knowingly collect their data. We believe this site is neither, and we would rather say that plainly than stay quiet about it. If you are a parent or guardian and think a minor has given us information, email support@nwatrades.com and we will delete it.
9. Security, and what happens if something goes wrong
Every page and form on this site is served over HTTPS. Owner accounts sign in by a one-time emailed link, so there is no password for us to store or for anyone to steal. Edits submitted through an owner account go into a review queue and do not write to the live site until a person approves them.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If personal information covered by the Arkansas Personal Information Protection Act is exposed in a breach, we will notify affected people as that law requires.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or what we do with it, we will update the date at the top of the page and say what changed in the newsletter. We will not quietly broaden it.
